One great way to save money in supply chain is to analyze what products are being used and why. Armed with this data, you can collaborate with physicians to standardize products and reduce the number of alternatives you keep in inventory.
Alternate sourcing can also reap big savings by allowing for variable quantity purchases. If you need two of an item that only comes in a box of six, too often those extra four will sit on a shelf taking up space until they’re eventually put on a pallet for the landfill. Instead, you can collaborate with other facilities to buy and sell directly from each other, a win-win-win for the seller, the buyer, and the environment.
